Author Biography

Peter Horsman

Peter Horsman works currently with the Archiefschool, the Netherlands Institute for Archival Education and Research, where he is responsible for the research programme. He started his archival career in 1975 at the municipal archives of Dordrecht. He worked from 1981 to 1998 with the Netherlands States Archives, involved in particular with automation policies. He participated in all major projects undertaken in this field within the States Archives. From 1991 to 1997, he was Director of the State Archives Information Policies Department. Peter has delivered papers on a variety of archival topics in many countries. He has been a consultant to organizations on record-keeping, archival databases, and electronic records management. His main field of research includes record-keeping systems and descriptive theories.
